What an incredible month it's been as we continue to shine a light on the issue of food insecurity among youth! Our Kidzz Helping Kidzz Advisory Board is truly inspiring, filled with young leaders who are making a real difference in their community through youth empowerment and community engagement.
This month, we're thrilled to celebrate Logan as our Rising Star! Logan's been an active member of our Advisory Board for three years and always brings a positive energy and spirit of teamwork.
He's a natural leader, as you can see him participating in our spaghetti and marshmallow tower building game.
Logan's also a thrill-seeker who loves zip lining and playing football. We're so grateful for his dedication to helping others, his keen eye for detail, and his impressive problem-solving skills. Thank you, Logan!
Together, our Advisory Board members have been hard at work packing bags of food for two incredible programs: Central Kitsap Food Backpacks 4 Kids and Bremerton Backpack Brigade. These initiatives are vital in ensuring that students and families facing food insecurity have access to nutritious meals throughout the school year.
Our team packed 267 bags for Central Kitsap Food Backpacks 4 Kids, a program that delivers over 6,000 supplemental meals to families in need each year. Thanks to the generosity of our community and the success of our food drives, these bags are filled with kid-friendly snacks, canned goods, and other essential items.
We also supported Bremerton Backpack Brigade, which provides food for over 594 children each week. Our Advisory Board members filled 118 backpacks with fresh produce, shelf-stable milk, juice, and other healthy foods. It's heartwarming to know that these backpacks will make a real difference in the lives of families who are struggling with child hunger.
But our work doesn't stop here. The Kidzz Helping Kidzz Advisory Board is committed to tackling the issue of food insecurity among youth head-on, and we have exciting plans to expand our food drive program next year. By providing nutritious meals, we aim to break the cycle of hunger and empower young people to thrive.
We'd also like to express our sincere gratitude to Kristin and Noah Moore for their generous donation of 100 Beanie Babies for our upcoming 2024 toy drive! Their ongoing support means the world to us and helps us bring joy to hospitalized children during the holidays.
Speaking of our toy drive, it's thanks to the kindness of community members like Kristin and Noah that we've been able to deliver over 41,000 toys to children in need since 2016.
We're always accepting donations of new toys with tags, so please consider contributing to our cause. To see the impact of your generosity, watch this heartwarming video of our toy delivery to St. Michael Medical Center last year.
Stay tuned for more updates on the incredible work our youth are doing to make a difference in the lives of others. Subscribe to our blog and join us on this inspiring journey of volunteering and charity!
